Worth the wait

A new WTHR feature is now available online. Scott Swan has been following Josh since the beginning & we were all there for a huge milestone this past weekend.

We got the confirmation from Josh late last week that he would finally be making a short visit home to Indiana. He had said all along, he wouldn't be coming home until he could walk off the plane. Well, we were amazed to watch when he did just that.

Josh is now able to walk limited distances and came home briefly to visit with family. He will return to Walter Reed and continue working toward his full recovery and eventual permanent return home.

The news story can be viewed online at http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=6931580 Click on the video link above the first picture and you can see the actual story as it aired.

We want to extend our gratitude to Scott Swan for covering Josh for the past 10 months and being so gracious and respectful to our family. Thank you Scott.

We'll keep things up to date as we can on the blog & will let everyone know when Josh will be released from Walter Reed and come home for good!

Visit to the White House

On a recent visit, mom, dad and Josh were able to take a private tour of the West Wing of the White House. All found it an amazing experience & we wanted to share a great picture of the three of them. Josh is standing on his prosthetics which makes it even more special.

He works very hard each day to work towards walking. He has a talented support system of physical therapists and doctors who are working to make it happen.

Enjoy the picture!!
