Super Bowl 2007

The COLTS are going to the Super Bowl and so is Josh!! Josh will be a guest of the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund...no more details yet but he is thrilled to know he will be in Miami cheering on the COLTS.
Virg and I were in DC this weekend....cheering on Josh and all the wounded warriors.
They each are on an amazing road to recovery....Josh tells extraordinary stories of strentgh and soul about all the men and women he works with at Walter Reed. Patients, families, therapists, volunteers...WOW...you would each be so very humbled and proud to see how hard they work...
I promise no more pictures without legs...Friday Josh gets his second leg and in 2 weeks knees...then he will be walking tall!

Josh Bleill Day

Yes it is true Josh's Elementary School declared yesterday Josh Bleill Day....the students got to wear jeans and dress in red, white and blue and all things patriotic and military. Thanks to St. Michael's teachers, students and the entire parish for keeping Josh in their prayers!
Josh is doing well. He continues to gain strength and balance...he is on schedule to get his second leg next week and knees two weeks after that. We (Myra and Virg) are returning this weekend...so we will get more information for all of you faithful blog followers.
For anyone already entered in the 500 Mini Marathon there is a team for Josh....tshirts and all...I will get that email (Alison Behr is coordinating this).
Tickets should be available soon for the March 17 party...stay tuned.
And GO COLTS.

January 9th, 2007
Hi everyone. It's Julie. I got the chance to talk to Josh for a while on Saturday, so I thought I'd give you an update on things he has been doing over the last few weeks.
His physical therapy is going well. As you know, he has his left prosthetic and stands on it every day. He is still strengthening his core so that he will be able to begin the process of walking when he gets his right leg. His core is SO strong that he can now do a pushup where his entire body lifts off the mat where he does PT. Yes, this did draw a crowd, I guess :) I believe there is a picture that was taken & if we can get it, we'll post it to show you just how strong Josh is!!
He's been able to start pool therapy. It strengthens his upper body & he is able to use his hips without bearing weight, which is good prep for the next steps. He said he's been in a kayak in the pool, which sounded very cool. Great upper body workout & he will continue with that.
Overall, Josh sounded great, is making progress & looks forward to taking those first steps again. We'll keep you posted as things happen and try to get some pictures out there so you can see his progress.
Love to you all.
Julie
